Join us for a slide presentation exploring the recent history of climbing Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks for sport, June 17 at 7:00pm
Erie Community Library. Writer and Colorado naitive Mark Scott-Nash will share some of the dangerous consequences of this popular activity.

Nash has extensive experience in mountaineering and technical climbing. He has participated in over 100 search and rescue missions. His book “Colorado 14er Disasters: Victims of the Game” was published in 2009.

Bonnie Carmody will be talking about the Underground Railroad. The talk will cover the reason for the underground railroad and the symbols used by the slaves to negoiate safe travel to the north. Ms. Carmody will have pictures of some of these symbols. She will not have the quilt she made but will show blocks from her next quilt.

Bonnie Carmody was born in Boulder and went to school in Lafayette. She has lived in Longmont for 15 years and is an active member of the Quilters Group.
The book she is using is written by Ms. Tobin “Hidden in Plain View”.

Admission is free. We hope to see you there.
